Dear Salt Strong members,
The Angler Action Foundation (AAF) is giving all Salt Strong members (Frazier Creek location) a free, 1-year AAF membership. This is because AAF recently guest hosted three club meetings (discussing snook, seatrout, and redfish), as well as AAF now having three major seagrass restoration projects in your home fishing waters.
Your membership comes with the usual trappings, including the ability to participate in meetings.
Alongside your membership, the AAF crew and our partners over at WeDoGood would like to invite you to take a look at our 2nd Annual Heroes for Habitats fishing tournament. It's less than a month away, and we're so excited to be ramping up once more to bring you an incredible event! Weith this article, we wanted to highlight all of the most important details of the tournament, so that if you decide to participate we can make it easy for you.
The captains meeting will be held on September 5th, at the Frazier Creek Brewing company in Stuart, Florida. This will be where any walk in participants can sign up, and get all of the important stuff out of the way. Here, we will set you up with the scoring app, go into all of the rules, then kick back and enjoy the perks of the brewery! Here, all teams will receive a captains bucket full of nifty items that are worth the price of admission. The captains meeting will also be the first opportunity to scope out some of the amazing prizes that we're going to auction off after fishing concludes the next day.
Although the captains bucket will more than cover the price of registration by itself, teams will also have the chance to make a return on their investment by way of prize money. Winners of the various divisions will be eligible for varying cash prizes- the pot will only get bigger when we meet a certain threshold of participants as well, so encourage your friends to come out and compete! Who wouldn't want to get paid to fish?
Speaking of competition, anglers will be competing to wrangle a diverse selection of fish the day of the tournament. For the inshore division, you will be targeting Snook, Redfish, and Trout. If you want to take the party offshore, look out for Snapper, Grouper, and Amberjack. If you're feeling adventurous, feel free to compete in both divisions. As long as you launch from Ft Pierce Inlet, St. Lucie Inlet, or the Jupiter Inlet, you get to fish the way YOU want.
Want to get involved, but can't seem to pull yourself away from previous obligations or commit to being in Stuart during the tournament days? We'd love for you to sign on as a sponsor of the event- sponsorship levels start as low as $150, which is lower than most any other tournament held in the area. Want to get some exposure for your business? This would be a perfect starting point- for an entry level sponsorship, we'll give you a shoutout on the tournament webpage, with room for increased exposure for those higher level sponsorships. The link below will bring you to the sponsorship inquiry page, where you'll be able to see a full list of benefits for each level of sponsorship.
Finally, we at the AAF and WeDoGood would like to highlight the reasons behind this annual fundraising opportunity. Every dollar raised goes to a duo of excellent causes, so you can rest easy at night knowing that you contributed to the betterment of your community and environment by attending the tournament. Here at the AAF, you likely know what we're all about. For the past couple years, we've been able to restore acres upon acres of seagrass in the Caloosahatchee River and Indian River Lagoon, to try and bring back these fisheries to their former glory. Through our efforts, we hope to provide a place for juvenile marine life to safely mature, free from roaming predators, while also improving water quality. Not only will this help maintain our fisheries for future generations, but we hope to elevate the local economies by encouraging a healthy balance of fishing and conservation to these restored ecosystems. As for WeDoGood, they hang their hat on the ability to provide financial support for families of fallen veterans and first responders. To contribute to their mission of giving back to the families of these heroes, who sacrificed everything to their country and communities, is one of the most humbling and fulfilling actions we can do as a partner organization, and hopefully you feel the same way.
To make a long story short, our organizations are working extremely hard to put on an extraordinary event, so we hope you will join us in raising money for the aforementioned causes, and help spread awareness to the tournament in any way you can. Neither organization could excel at what they do without you, and from the bottom of our hearts, we appreciate any and all support you've offered over the past couple years. If you could take a moment to visit our tournament page, to see if registering and competing would make sense, then by all means click the link below. This goes without saying, but we think it would be worth your time. We hope to see you there!
